The Mavericks’ fan base has been heartbroken by this game-changing move, and even other superstars like Stephen Curry are at a loss for words.

The Chef took some time to discuss the historic deal that rocked the NBA on Saturday night as they prepared to host the Orlando Magic at Chase Center. The veteran of 15 seasons said: “Some things still kind of wow you,”

“That definitely was a shock for sure. But every year around this time, we’ve all been through it, where trades happen… It is fun at times though. So, you got to appreciate the entertainment value of shocking trades like that,”

Naturally, the last time a player of this magnitude switched teams outside of free agency was most likely the Kevin Durant sign-and-trade. However, despite his extensive knowledge of the erratic trading market, Curry failed to anticipate a shift of this size.

It was especially clear over the weekend when fans captured his response. Steph, Draymond Green, and Brandin Podziemski were enjoying their extended home stand by going to the Warriors’ annual poker tournament on Saturday, even though the Dubs haven’t played since Friday.
