For most of the last three decades, the Cleveland Browns have been the definition of poverty, winning only one postseason game in 20 years. Myles Garrett, a star pass rusher, is the most recent to accept that the Browns are unlikely to win the Super Bowl in the near future.
Cleveland has been in complete decline ever since they inked their notorious $230 million contract with Deshaun Watson. Garrett has called for a trade since the team no longer has a clear offensive identity.
Rich Eisen talks about Myles Garrett doing a Jimmy Buttler
Rich Eisen of The Rich Eisen Show implied that this trade request is different from the others we’ve seen lately based on the wording of his request.
“The last time… an AFC North star of stars said, “I want out.” the Ravens gave Lamar what he wanted, but that was money… I don’t know that is the underpinning of this with Myles Garrett. I don’t think it is. I don’t think this is a Jimmy Butler play, where I don’t see the money coming.”
Eisen, who finished eight seasons with 102.5 sacks and a 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award, made it clear that many teams would be eager to sign the four-time All-Pro defensive end.
“He said it’s about winning a Super Bowl, and he wants out. I am sure there are many teams for whom this guy is a missing piece and would be happy to oblige him.”
The Detroit Lions, the Washington Commanders, the Buffalo Bills, and the Cincinnati Bengals were all listed as possible suitors for the six-time pro bowler.
