Luka Doncic has already moved on from the startling deal that brought him to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to his father.
Saša, Dončić’s father, spoke about his son’s new life as a Lakers player on Slovenian television. The senior Dončić brushed aside the question of whether his son was still resentful after being moved to Los Angeles by the Dallas Mavericks.
According to Saša Dončić: “Well, regarding the trade, I have to say, at least what Luka and I talk about, it feels like it happened a year ago. We’ve already forgot about it, the bitterness of that moment,”
“It was a shock, but at the end of the day, it’s a legitimate right of every team to trade its players if they are not satisfied with them. O.K,, what happened happened, life moves on.”

He went on to add that his son has adapted to his new circumstances. He said:
“Luka adapted very fast,” “Of course, also, the Lakers organization, they really make sure you’re comfortable in this environment here. This trade is long forgotten, so that things are moving on.”
In a resounding victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, Dončić made his Lakers debut. While recovering from a persistent calf ailment and getting back to full pace, he seemed to blend in. In 24 minutes, the 25-year-old scored 14 points, pulled down five rebounds, and provided four assists. His shooting performance was poor; he only made 5 out of 14 field goals and 1 out of 7 three-pointers.
As the trade fades into the background, the five-time All-NBA pick should only become more at ease.
