Mike Flynn, the winner of Super Bowl XXXV, spoke of his experience of a horrible NFL Draft. Since he would not be picked, the incident turned out to be a moot matter for him as a rookie.

Things didn’t get much better, even after he had established himself in the league. Throughout his ten-year career, Flynn experienced nothing except worry and fear every single day of the draft.

The former Baltimore Raven declared with pride, “I hate the NFL Draft,” in a recent interview with Recruiting Board.

When I was playing, I just hated it, because they are taking guys to take my job. People would call me all the time when I was with the Ravens. ‘Oh the draft is here, who do you think the Ravens are going to get?’ I don’t care as long as they don’t take a lineman. I’m trying to earn a living. This is how I pay for food, man...It was the worst experience,”

Flynn claims that the outcome was “11 years of pain and being scared” over the team’s possible draft picks. In fact, he probably wouldn’t have gone to any draft day events if it weren’t for the free food and lodging.

In keeping with the notion that offensive linemen are the NFL’s unsung heroes, he also implied that playing in the trenches does little to no good for an undrafted rookie. “There’s no perfect situation,” to put it simply.

Every lineman, when they come to camp, it’s 15 guys, and most of them went to big schools… You’re just trying to find a place where you’re comfortable.”

Fortunately, Flynn was able to make a smooth transition to the Ravens in 1997. At the turn of the century, he would finally receive the coveted starting honors after appearing in just 15 games during his first two seasons in the league.
