Heisman Race: Micah Parsons’ Perspective

Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty are dominated in the Heisman Trophy argument, which has become a hot issue as the college football season draws to a dramatic end. Never one to shy away from controversy, Micah Parsons, a standout for the Dallas Cowboys, has now thrown his voice to the mix.

After assisting his side in defeating the Washington Commanders 34–26, Parsons shared his scathing opinion on social media. The defensive head of the Cowboys didn’t hold back when he said: “We shouldn’t even be discussing the Heisman!!! Ashton Jeanty is the Heisman winner!!”

In addition to its audacity, the comment caused controversy because Hunter is still the clear favorite to win the coveted prize, with remarkable odds of -400 against Jeanty’s +400. Nevertheless, Parsons’ statement has generated a contentious discussion among both supporters and experts.

Micah Parsons in actions for the cowboys

The Cowboys’ victory on Sunday ended a five-game losing streak and briefly put an end to rumors that they were tanking for better draft picks. It was a turning point in their season. There are still concerns regarding Dallas’ future plans, even though Parsons insisted that the team would not forfeit games for draft picks.

Ashton Jeanty or Travis Hunter ? Who should team up with Micah Parsons ?

Jeanty may be a viable option for the Cowboys, according to early mock drafts, thus Parsons’ support is even more significant. The running back from Boise State has shown a lot of promise and would be a huge asset to Dallas.

However, any team choosing higher may find Hunter to be an appealing option due to his exceptional two-way skills as a receiver and cornerback.

The Cowboys have not yet decided on their draft approach. They might no longer be in the running for elite talents like Hunter if they defeat the New York Giants in their Thanksgiving game. The Colorado standout, whose versatility has been hailed as a once-in-a-generation talent, could be available to them if the season ends poorly.

All eyes will be on how these stories play out as college football approaches its final awards presentation and the NFL season advances toward its postseason. Micah Parsons’ fervent support has kept Jeanty in the public eye—and possibly on the Cowboys’ radar—for the time being.
