Confirmed: Rihanna To Perform ‘Lift Me Up’ at 2023 Academy Awards

Just weeks after being lifted into history books thanks to her top-rated Super Bowl halftime show, ‘Diamonds‘ diva Rihanna will be shining her megawatt talent on the Academy Awards stage.

Details inside.

Taking to press Thursday (February 23), ABC hushed weeks of speculation by confirming the 9-time GRAMMY winner will be performing her ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack hit, ‘Lift Me Up,’ at the Academy Awards on March 12.

Written by Rih alongside Tems, Ludwig Goransson, and the ‘Panther’ director Ryan Coogler, ‘Lift’ is nominated for Best Original Song at this year’s ceremony and is set to face off against ‘Applause‘ (Diane Warren), ‘Hold My Hand‘ (Lady Gaga), ‘Naatu Naatu’ (M.M. Keeravani & Chandrabose), and ‘This is Life’ (Ryan Lott, David Byrne, & Mitski).

The nod comes as a career first for the 35-year-old Bajan songstress.

Hosted live at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, famed comedian-talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will serve as the event’s host. Click here to see the full list of nominees.
