Anthony Edwards “Scared” After Luka Doncic Trade

There is uncertainty throughout the league as a result of the Dallas Mavericks’ surprise trade of Luka Doncic. Anthony Edwards made a joke about it after losing to the Sacramento Kings in Minnesota.

According to the three-time All-Star: “That’s crazy,” “They traded probably the best scorer in the NBA at 25. He didn’t know about it. So, there’s a lot more digging somebody got to do to find out why he got traded. ‘Cause you don’t just trade him at 25. He just went to the Finals.”

Fascinatingly, following their deepest Playoff run in years, supporters cited the Timberwolves as another team that blew up its core. However, Minnesota was able to fully commit to its cornerstone, Edwards, by moving Karl Anthony-Towns. However, as a rising celebrity in charge of his own organization, Ant-Man understood Doncic’s predicament.

During an interview in the locker room, Ant stated: “I feel bad for Luka, man. I saw something on YouTube that said he just bought a crib and everything in Dallas. So, that sucks man, that sucks,”

Edwards was also concerned about what the league may interpret from such a move. The Olympic gold medallist questioned his own standing as he discussed how Doncic’s deal has impacted the idea of “untouchable” athletes. He joked:

“I’m scared,” “Tim [Connelly], if you’re gonna trade me, let me know dawg. When Luka got traded, anybody is able to get traded at that point.”

The 23-year-old, however, exhaled with relief when reporters informed him that Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch recently reaffirmed his faith in Ant. Edwards said, “Thank God, I just bought a crib too.”

Perhaps Edwards was inspired to play against the Kings by the tension Doncic’s move caused. Due to an undisclosed ailment, he was unable to attend his season opener on Saturday night.
