Wayne Brady is opening up about coming out as pansexual.

Speaking on the heels of news that he’s expecting another child with his ex-partner, the multihyphenate is expanding on his decision to go public with his sexuality.

Sitting down with Keke Palmer on her ‘Baby, It’s Keke Palmer’ podcast, the 52-year-old delved into depth about finding himself and being open to loving the soul more than the “vessel.”

“To be to be pansexual to have an attraction that is not limited to male or female. It’s male, female, non-binary. So, really, it’s a very fancy way of saying that the vessel doesn’t matter. And that’s how I look at it. If I fall in love with you, I’m in a place to fall in love with the soul of the person no matter what the vessel is and not to get hung up on that piece of it.”

Continuing, he added:

“And rhat was a huge thing to be able for me to accept, because I think – like a lot of young men at the time – who were raised in the neighborhood I’m from and raised around the cats I was raised around, to even have that as a concept in my mind was at odds with you.

And then you bring religion into it and you’re like, ‘well, what if I were attracted to a man? Then I’m going to hell and that’s bad. And but I love a woman [so on and so forth].’ So to be able to quiet all of that noise and go ‘hey, here is the fact: I’m gonna fall in love with who I’m gonna fall in love with and let’s just see what it is.’ “
