If there’s one thing Amerie fans for sure want to hear it’s official news that the GRAMMY-nominated diva is back in the lab cooking up new entries to her critically acclaimed discography.

After years of teasing, it appears she’s finally made time to hit up a studio and deliver on the promise to lend her voice to some new music.

Barring spot concert dates and festival showings over the last few years, Amerie has kept pretty quiet on the music front since the release of her 2018 double EP ‘4AM Mulholland’ and ‘After 4AM.’  Despite kicking off the top of 2020 with confirmation that new music was in the works, the diva’s been mum on the topic since – focusing mostly on her literary efforts (reviews, authorship, etc.).

However, ears perked up after the 42-year-old took to Instagram recently to show behind the scenes footage of her time in the studio with rapper Consequence (as seen above).  The emcee, who made headlines earlier this year when he reconciled with longtime collaborator/embattled Hip-Hop star Kanye West to produce the tune ‘Blood Stain,’ tapped the songstress to contribute to its follow-up – ‘Blood Stain 2.’

“A lil’ behind the scenes… BLOOD STAIN 2 is on the way with my brother [Consequence],” she captioned the video which – as of time reported – has already captured nearly 7,000 likes.

As commenters, including fellow R&B diva Lil Mo, cheered in the comments, many inquired if more new music could be expected from the ‘1 Thing’ hitmaker by herself.

At writing, however, she’s not confirmed if and when her own music will be hitting digital shelves.  But, her long-awaited return to the studio at least gives us hope that an announcement is on the way.
