The ideal meme was created by Tyrese Haliburton to honor Obi Toppin’s valiant achievement. On Monday, the Indiana Pacers had no business winning in dramatic overtime.
The Pacers faced an eight-game winning streaking Minnesota Timberwolves squad without Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith, and Myles Turner. In the middle of the game, Andrew Nembhard and Bennedict Mathurin were substituted out, while Nembhard was dismissed.
The unheralded efforts of Obi Toppin helped the undermanned Pacers win despite the odds being stacked against them. Toppin, who averages 9.9 points per game, scored a season-high 34 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists against the Timberwolves.

After overtime began, Toppin genuinely led the Pacers to victory. Toppin made four three-pointers in overtime, including the game-winning three-pointer, to account for 12 of the team’s 15 points during the period.
Toppin made the game-winning fading triple with 3.5 seconds remaining and the Pacers behind 130-129. In the closing seconds, Julius Randle of the Timberwolves had a chance to reply, but he missed his attempt.
Haliburton posted a meme of Peter Griffin, a character from Family Guy, shooting a basketball as a fitting way to commemorate Toppin’s performance after the victory. Haliburton wrote Toppin’s entire name in all caps as the caption for the photo: “OBADIAH RICHARD TOPPIN JR.”

Last Tuesday, Haliburton defeated the Milwaukee Bucks with an equally unlikely shot. Haliburton won the game in regulation after trailing by three points and making a three-pointer over Giannis Antetokounmpo and a free throw.
The Pacers are currently 38-29 for the season after their victory on Monday. In a week, they will play the Timberwolves again, and ideally, more of their players will be available.
