Tory Lanez has misfired in his attempts to secure a new trial.

For, five months after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion, a Los Angeles judge has denied the performer’s bid for a fresh case.

Lanez and his new legal team had hoped a succession of new arguments would find favor with Judge David Herriford.

Beyond claiming that some of the evidence of the original trial was prejudicial, Lanez went on to say that a denial would “ruin [his] life” and added “I could be your son, your brother.”

Still, the motion was denied. 

In a dramatic move, Lanez’s lawyers then moved to have the judge removed from the case – arguing that today’s ruling can’t hold until that matter was addressed. The judge disagreed.

While sentencing is pending, Judge Herriford reportedly shared at an April hearing that should the motion for a new trial be denied (as it has been), sentencing would take place no more than 30 days after.

Tory Lanez WILL NOT get a new trial for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. This is according to Judge David Herriford, who ruled from the bench a few minutes ago.

Lanez, who has been behind bars since December, now faces over 20 years in prison.
