With a lavish renovation to his $6 million Kansas City home, NFL player Travis Kelce, who is well-known for his on-field exploits and his public romance with Taylor Swift, is creating a stir.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is reportedly expanding his already impressive property by turning a portion of his house into an opulent underground man cave that includes a golf simulator.

Travis Kelce had Taylor Swift in mind when he purchased the property

Located on a 3.5-acre lot in a quiet cul-de-sac, Kelce’s mansion is a celebrity couple’s private haven and an entertainer’s paradise. A wine cellar, a club room with a bar, a two-story movie theater, and a large pool area with a hot tub, waterfall, and large patio are all features of the property.

There are plenty of recreational opportunities at Kelce’s house, including a personal subterranean golf simulator. Other amenities include a gym, sauna, tennis/pickleball court, and even a miniature golf course.

The Chiefs star’s off-field endeavors have contributed to his wealth, even though he has had a successful career, earning over $93 million and most recently agreeing to a two-year, $34.25 million contract extension.

Travis Kelce’s new “Iceberge house”

With a podcast worth over $100 million, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, Kelce has the financial stability to finance upscale house improvements like these. The excavation permission for Kelce’s home was just confirmed by the Leawood Public Works Department, and building has begun.

Swift’s role in the project is still unknown, but supporters believe she and Kelce’s teammates and friends—who share his passion for golf—may be among the first to enjoy the new area.

Kelce is a part of the “iceberg house” movement, which is a growing trend among celebrities who want to create huge underground chambers beneath their homes. Kelce bought the 17,000-square-foot estate in Leawood, Kansas, in 2023.

Travis Kelce has the perfect setup for an underground getaway thanks to this latest extension, which apparently entails excavating to enlarge the basement space by almost two feet.
