Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, recently received a clear message from Micah Parsons, and it wasn’t the news he was looking for.
During a recent in-person meeting, the star defensive end, who is vying for a record-breaking contract deal, reportedly informed Jones exactly what he wanted. Before Jones paused and neglected to contact Parsons’ representative to finalize the contract, it seemed like the two parties were in agreement. Now, there can be a significant price for that delay.
Clarence Hill Jr., an NFL source, claims that Parsons told Jones to “call my agent” before leaving. The call never arrived. And since then, the market for pass rushers has grown rapidly.

In an appearance on Unsportsmanlike Radio, ESPN’s Adam Schefter went all out, saying Parsons is “set to become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.” Schefter continued, “He’s younger than all of them, his numbers are outstanding – this deal will trump the others.”
While Parsons, 26, continues to show up and work hard at minicamp, tensions in Dallas are increasing. And that clock might have just expired if Jerry Jones believed he had time on his side.
