Quinn Ewers Turned Down a $8 Million NIL Transfer Offer

Quinn Ewers is giving up a lot of money in order to enter the NFL Draft in 2025. According to a report by 247Sports on Thursday, the now-former Texas quarterback declined an offer of $8 million NIL to transfer to another school and play his last season of NCAA eligibility.

The school that made the offer was not identified in the report. His desire to leave Texas in a positive state and his sense that he’s prepared to advance and become a professional are the driving forces behind the decision.

According to 247Sports, NFL scouts told the publication that they anticipated Ewers being selected in the late first round to early third round.

Riley Dodge, Ewers’ high school coach, told the outlet: “Texas was the only place he wanted to play college football,”. “He wanted to leave Texas in good standing.”

In his last season with the Longhorns, Ewers completed 293 passes for 3,472 yards and 31 touchdowns. With 27 victories, he ties Sam Ehlinger as Texas’ fourth-winning quarterback of all time. The only people behind him are Bobby Layne, Vince Young, and Colt McCoy.

Speaking to ESPN prior to the Cotton Bowl, Ewers intimated that he would not be going back to Texas next season and declared he would be declaring for the draft on Wednesday.

The quarterback also stated that he wanted to be remembered as an exceptional teammate throughout his time at Texas.
