Rising star Shaboozey is shining at the apex of the Billboard Hot 100.

Armed with the momentum of his appearance on Beyonce‘s ‘Cowboy Carter’ album, the Country act saw streams of his follow-up solo effort ‘A Bar Song’ explode.

Now, on the latest iteration of the Hot 100, he reigns at #1 after climbing one spot.

And he’s made history by doing so.

But before we delve into that. Let’s get into the numbers that powered his ascend.

Lifted from the singer’s project ‘Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going,’ ‘A Bar Song’ earned the following in the latest US tracking week

• 44.8 million official streams (up 10%)
• 60 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 11%)
• 23,000 digital downloads (up 6%)

As well as topping the Hot 100, the track – which samples J-Kwon‘s 2004 hit ‘Tipsy’ – also line dances into pole position on the Hot Country Songs tally.

The feat sees the Nigerian-American (who was born Collins Obinna Chibueze) become the second Black artist in history to have a song hit #1 on the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs chart. Beyonce is the first.

Shaboozey is notably the first Black male artist to occupy both #1 spots.

The win comes on the heels of the 29-year-old’s performance of ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ with surprise guest J-Kwon at the BET Awards 2024.
