According to a source who spoke to ESPN on Thursday, LSU standout guard Flau’Jae Johnson has decided to forego the 2025 WNBA draft in favor of playing her final year of college basketball.
According to the source, Johnson may decide to return to LSU for the 2025–2026 season or use the transfer site to consider offseason NIL offers before it shuts on April 23. The Athletic was the first to report the news.
Instead of entering the draft, which will take place in New York on April 14, the 5-foot-10 guard, who has played her entire collegiate career in Baton Rouge, plans to return for her last year of eligibility.
What does the future hold for Flau’Jae Johnson?
Unless their teams were still in postseason play on Sunday, players in 2025 had until Monday night to declare for the WNBA draft. If they were, they had 48 hours after the conclusion of their season to make a decision.
Johnson had to inform the league by midnight Tuesday if she will join this year’s draft because LSU’s season ended with a 72-65 loss to the UCLA Bruins in Sunday’s regional final.
Despite not having played all four seasons in college, Johnson was eligible to enter this year’s WNBA draft because she would be 22 in November. Johnson’s professional future includes Unrivaled, in addition to the WNBA.
