Next season, LeBron James will be 41 and enter the last year of his deal. Is it time for retirement?
After losing in the first round of the playoffs for the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Lakers had yet another poor season. They were defeated in five games by Denver last season, and Minnesota did the same to them this year.

The disappointment was more intense this time, particularly in light of the historic trade that brought Anthony Davis to Los Angeles in February prior to the All-Star break, which introduced Luka Doncic to the city. Both observers and fans were optimistic that the LeBron-Luka team would at least make it past the first round.
But as LeBron James approaches 41 and enters the last year of his contract, rumors that he may retire are intensifying, stoked by a mysterious video he shared on social media.
LeBron James speaks to reporters about retirement
In addition to beating Vince Carter’s record for the most seasons played in league history, LeBron James is about to start his 23rd NBA season, matching the number on his jersey. alongside a lengthy career, a stellar record list, and the unique opportunity to play alongside his son Bronny, it appears that he will soon retire as he approaches the last year of his contract. LeBron shared a brief video on social media early this morning that has everyone talking.
I’ve been asking myself the same question…

In it, reporters are yelling questions and cameras are flashing all around him. “Are the reports of his retirement accurate? “What comes next?”
There is no doubt that LeBron will not leave in silence. He will have a farewell tour with presents and tributes from opposing teams and supporters, just like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and Michael Jordan did before him. He is probably the best player of all time and, in the opinion of some, the greatest athlete basketball has ever seen; his departure would signal the end of an era of greatness.
