The disappointment was more intense this time, particularly in light of the historic trade that brought Anthony Davis to Los Angeles in February prior to the All-Star break, which introduced Luka Doncic to the city. Both observers and fans were optimistic that the LeBron-Luka team would at least make it past the first round.

There is no doubt that LeBron will not leave in silence. He will have a farewell tour with presents and tributes from opposing teams and supporters, just like Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and Michael Jordan did before him. He is probably the best player of all time and, in the opinion of some, the greatest athlete basketball has ever seen; his departure would signal the end of an era of greatness.
