All eyes are on Texas’ quarterback predicament as they continue their journey in the College Football Playoffs. Arch Manning, the five-star prospect and nephew of NFL greats Peyton and Eli Manning, has continued to be a vital member of the Longhorns, especially with Quinn Ewers leading the attack.
Arch Manning affirms that he will not be moving
Manning made his plans known before the game, even as Texas prepared for what turned out to be an exciting College Football Playoff quarterfinal victory over Arizona State by a score of 39-31 at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
The quarterback made his decision very evident. In 2024, he threw for 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.
On Monday, Manning stated: “I really have no plans on entering the portal or anything, so I don’t really know about it,”
“I’m probably the wrong guy to ask about that, too.”

The NCAA transfer portal is a major concern for many collegiate athletes, particularly those participating in the Playoffs, as both Ewers and Manning are eligible to return for the 2025 campaign.
ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. thinks the Longhorns’ quarterback competition is already decided, despite the uncertainty surrounding Ewers’ future.
Kiper said: “Arch Manning is going to be the quarterback at Texas next year,” “If you want to play college football, you probably have to move on somewhere.”
For the club and its supporters, Manning’s pledge to return to Texas offers clarity. Manning’s next moves as he gets ready to coach Texas in 2025 will be widely monitored, especially since the Longhorns advanced to the CFP semifinal.
With Wednesday’s game against the Sun Devils going into a second overtime to decide the winner, the Longhorns are under pressure to shake off the tough game at the Peach Bowl.
