An NFL Insider Discusses Aaron Rodgers

Even though the first week of OTAs is over, the conversation about Aaron Rodgers‘ future hasn’t changed. Since the Jets fired him at the start of the offseason, there has been conjecture regarding the veteran quarterback’s future following that terrible two-year stay in New York City. Will he end his Hall of Fame career or sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers?

According to stories from NFL insiders and Rodgers’ training with DK Metcalf, many initially anticipated that the four-time NFL MVP would join Mike Tomlin & Co. in Pittsburgh. However, nothing has been delivered, sealed, or signed as of the first week of June.

Many have speculated that the NFL icon may be thinking about retiring as a result of this. Some firmly feel that the NFL’s Aaron Rodgers era may be coming to an end at any moment, as evidenced by the quarterback’s recent hint at this option during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show and his admission that he’s open to retiring as a Packer.

However, in a recent statement about the matter, NFL insider Seth Wickersham provided a clear interpretation of the silence:

“If he were to walk away, I think we would have known by now.”

What about the rumors of retirement, though? Wickersham, however, thinks Rodgers has enough left to postpone such a decision:

“I think that he has a lot of good football left in him.”

The ESPN analyst believes that a move to Pittsburgh makes sense because of this. He stated: “I think that going to a place like Pittsburgh is the right idea,”“Because there’s a program in place that isn’t really dependent on him to be the face of.”

Additionally, Rodgers wouldn’t have to bear the weight alone because Tomlin was in charge of one of the NFL’s most reliable and steady teams. However, Wickersham pointed out that the former Packer might provide difficulties in Pittsburgh, particularly given his propensity to cause controversy.
