Quinn Ewers to the CFP Semifinals With a Spectacular OT Victory

The Texas Longhorns defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils in a thrilling quarterfinal of the College Football Playoffs at the Peach Bowl, led by Quinn Ewers. The game will be remembered for its exhilarating plays and suspenseful ending, which saw Texas win the game in a thrilling overtime match with a final score of 39-31.

Ewers had three touchdowns and 322 yards on 20 of 30 throws, although he was picked off once. Especially during the hot overtime period, Ewers showed his extraordinary talent and composed under pressure.

But Arizona State was unrelenting. Cam Skattebo, their standout rushing back, kept the Sun Devils in the game by tearing through Texas’ defense. Arizona State pulled up a spectacular comeback as the fourth quarter came to an end, tied the game in the closing seconds and forcing overtime.

He found Matthew Golden for a fantastic 28-yard touchdown pass on a pivotal 4th and13 play, while the stadium exploded in excitement, forcing a second overtime after the Sun Devils had taken the lead in the first.

The second overtime demonstrated Ewers’ skill and leadership. He scored a 25-yard touchdown on the first play after connecting with tight end Gunnar Helm. Ewers was successful once more when the Longhorns had to attempt a two-point convert. He found Golden in the end zone to give Texas a 39–31 victory.

With the defense catching the Sun Devil, Texas advances to the Cotton Bowl, where they will play the winner of the Rose Bowl between Ohio State and Oregon.
