The 2025 WNBA season began spectacularly for Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark, who recorded her third career triple-double in a decisive victory over the Chicago Sky. In league history, Clark tied Candace Parker for the third-most triple-doubles with his 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
After Indiana won, LeBron James congratulated Clark on her triple-double and praised her outstanding performance on social media. James was referred to by Clark as the “greatest basketball player of all time” and one of her favorite players.
During her press conference on Monday, Clark disclosed: “That’s one of my idols, LeBron is the GOAT to me,”. “He really does follow the WNBA. He watches and he loves and appreciates basketball and he loves and appreciates the way the Fever and my teammates play. I didn’t see it before the game, but a lot of people sent it to me.”
“That’s one of my idols. … [LeBron’s] my favorite player of all-time.”

Prior to the Fever’s season debut, James shared a positive Instagram post with a picture of the two celebrities together and the following caption: “Good luck and DO YOU per usual this season!!!”
Rookie of the Year last season, Clark, who was selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Iowa, averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. This Tuesday, the Fever will play the Atlanta Dream.
