On Wednesday night, Tyrese Haliburton accomplished two significant things. Sure, he scored 22 points, dished out 11 assists, and grabbed nine rebounds in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, but even more notably, he sparked a new fashion meme by repeatedly stating that his dad was “outta pocket for those jeans.”

The microphones first picked up the Pacers’ point guard directing this comment towards John Haliburton before the start of Game 3. He echoed this sentiment when ESPN’s Jorge Sedano inquired about his father following the Pacers’ victory that put them up 2-1 in the series.

During the postgame interview, Sedano asked: “Pops is in the house, what’s the celebration going to be like for him?”

Haliburton responded: “I’m gonna go say what up and he gonna go home,” “He outta pocket for them jeans, but other than that, it’s good to see him out here.”

At the start of the playoffs, Haliburton’s father confronted Giannis Antetokounmpo on the court after the Pacers won their first-round matchup. He was subsequently banned from Pacers games but returned after the request of the Inside the NBA crew during the Eastern Conference finals. The fact that he’s back at games being teased by his son over his fashion choices in the same postseason is perhaps the least expected comeback in the Pacers’ Finals journey.
