Deion Sanders Reveals His True Feelings About His Lucrative Contract With Colorado

During a conversation on the Say What Needs To Be Said podcast with former NFL player Asante Samuel, the topic naturally shifted to the significant contract extension Deion Sanders signed with the Colorado Buffaloes.

Sanders explained, however, that the $54 million deal he landed only represents a fraction of the value he has brought to Boulder. Samuel confronted him directly with a question: “Do you feel you’ve been compensated properly? You maxed them out?”

With a grin, Sanders offered a reply that was both partially serious and partially humorous:  “You could never be compensated enough!”

He further stressed that his contribution to Colorado goes beyond just winning games. He added: “You can’t just pay me like a normal coach. Because we affect everything. I mean, EVERYTHING,”

When Sanders took over in Boulder, the Buffaloes had just endured a 1-11 season and were mostly overlooked in the realm of college football. In just two years, Coach Prime changed the story, leading Colorado to nine victories and restoring national attention to the program.

However, the change went beyond just the number of wins. As Sanders noted, the transformation has positively impacted the entire Boulder community.
