Lisa Bluder has witnessed Caitlin Clark suffer severe injuries in the past. However, the degree of physicality she encounters in the WNBA? Her former coach has had enough, and it’s about to get out of hand.

Marina Mabrey leveled Clark after being poked in the eye during the Indiana Fever‘s most recent victory over the Connecticut Sun. The incident resulted in technical fouls. “My game’s gonna talk and that’s all that really matters,” Clark said, dismissing it later.

Bluder, however, is not remaining silent. The recently retired head coach of Iowa, who guided Clark to four seasons that broke records, believes the WNBA should take over as soon as possible.

Bluder stated: “If we want that to change, we have to change the way the game is called,”  “I think there needs to be more freedom of movement in our game,” “If we start calling more fouls and emphasize the rules, the players will adjust.” “With Clark, it’s not just rookie hazing – she’s being treated like a target.”

In order to protect all players, Bluder is advocating for more fouls to be called generally, not just for Clark.
