In a surprising declaration, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed that the team’s strategic advantage has been the absence of curtains in AT&T Stadium. Speaking to a radio host about Ceedee Lamb’s curtains request, Jones boldly proclaimed that the lack of curtains gives the Cowboys an edge over their opponents.

This unexpected revelation has sparked a lively debate among fans and analysts. Some applaud Jones for his unconventional thinking, commending him for finding an advantage in an unlikely place. Others, however, question the practicality of such a decision, suggesting that curtains could offer benefits that outweigh any perceived disadvantages.

Jerry Jones, owner of the Cowboys and the visionary behind AT&T Stadium’s unique design, was quick to dismiss the idea of modifying the structure. “Well, let’s tear the damn stadium down and build another one?” he retorted when questioned post-game. His sarcasm made it clear: the glare is here to stay.

The conversation about the sun’s impact has been ongoing, but Jones reinforced his position during a recent interview on 105.3 FM The Fan. For him, the design was intentional and rooted in the desire to replicate the feeling of playing outdoors. “That stadium was built to feel like you’re outdoors… It has over three million cubic feet of air-conditioned space. My biggest thought when we were building it was don’t have it not look like it’s outdoors,” he stated.

Despite the criticisms, Jones made his stance clear: adapting to the sunlight should be seen as part of the challenge. “Every venue has certain things that… can create an advantage,” he noted, emphasizing the strategic element. Jones cited the team’s history, highlighting that they’ve played 52 games where the sun could potentially be a factor and claimed that they had won a majority of them. “It has been an advantage to know where the sun is, and I don’t want to change that,” he concluded.

Only time will tell if the lack of curtains truly benefits the Dallas Cowboys. But for now, Jones remains steadfast in his belief that the open surroundings of the AT&T Stadium will continue to be an advantage for his team, and no requests for curtains will be granted.
