The docuseries is being split into two films: ‘Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Men in Hollywood’ and Number One on the Call Sheet: Black Leading Women in Hollywood’.
This series will feature an all-star lineup of Hollywood’s most prominent Black actors like Bassett, Berry, Idris Elba, Whoopi Goldberg, Jamie Foxx, and Denzel Washington,
The term ‘Number One on the Call Sheet’ refers to the actor who holds the top spot on a film or television production’s daily call sheet, and who’s typically the lead performer.
Also, it signifies their prominence in the project and gives them the status needed to move up in the industry.
Additionally, this docuseries explores what it takes to reach that most coveted position in Hollywood and how these Black actors overcame those challenges.
The docuseries premieres on March 28 on Apple TV+.
