One of the NBA’s greatest baskets ever. The game-winning basket that Trae Young signed will be remembered worldwide as a modern classic due to its beauty, complexity, and execution. The point guard for the Atlanta Hawks made an incredible three-pointer at the end of the game to defeat the Utah Jazz (124–121). Naturally, without any time on the clock and from beyond half court.

It’s an amazing sequence. In what was meant to be the final play, the Hawks were ahead by three points (118–121). Dyson Daniels nearly stole the ball when the Jazz took it with three seconds remaining.

Collin Sexton, Utah’s point guard, made a three-pointer with less than four seconds remaining after he failed to arrive. It was the shot that tied the game.

A treble to be etched in history for Trae Young

You can see several Atlanta players drop their heads as Sexton’s basket appears to put the game into overtime. Not young. According to the official measurement, it is taken at a distance of 49 feet, or roughly 14.93 meters. It falls short of both the record, which was set by Devonte Graham in a Pelicans victory over the Thunder with a triple from 61 feet (18.59 meters), and the second-ever mark set by Max Strus in a Cleveland victory over Dallas last season (59 feet, 17.58 meters). But for the legend, it’s worth it.

It was also the cherry on top for Atlanta’s best player. He took off with amazing figures after neutralizing Finland’s Lauri Markkanen’s scoring display (35 points). 20 assists, two rebounds, and 24 points. Young has made a name for himself as a top distributor, and he leads the NBA with 427 assists.
