Many people are already completely focused on the 2025 NFL Draft as the NFL regular season ends this weekend and the College Football Playoffs conclude. As it stands, the New England Patriots would select first overall, followed by teams in dire need of a quarterback. If New England stays at their choice, they would select a position player because Drake Maye is their franchise quarterback.
For Travis Hunter, that may be extremely good news. However, it would remove the quarterback from the running to be the first player selected for Shedeur Sanders, his Colorado teammate.
Sanders would probably only drop one or two choices in that case, as his primary draft class opponent at the position would be Cam Ward. League teams appear to be convinced of Sanders’ NFL potential, but not everyone is. Tom Brady, an influential former player, has now given Sanders his blessing.
Tom Brady adores Shedeur Sanders’ precision, initiative, and planning
Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports recently published a detailed piece in which he discussed Sanders and Ward with NFL football executives. He disclosed information regarding Brady’s feelings toward Sanders in it, and the all-time great is impressed.
Charles revealed: “From what I’ve been told about Brady’s opinion of Sanders… there is a great amount of respect for Sanders’ focus on preparation, his ability to learn and adapt, his accuracy and determination in the pocket, and his toughness to take hits and still be resilient… He also stayed in school for four years and developed, which is something Brady has repeatedly and publicly said he values in a young quarterback.”
Brady is undoubtedly the most significant quarterback in NFL history, thus his viewpoint matters. Brady’s ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders, one of the primary teams searching for a new quarterback in the draft, makes it significant as well.
It’s up for discussion how much influence Brady has over the Raiders front management. The Raiders now own the eighth overall pick, therefore they are also unable to take Sanders. However, it’s feasible that Brady’s “guy” will make a significant advancement.
