Between the buzz, record-breaking streams, bountiful physical editions, and the freshly added tracks to consume, Swift was always looking at a gargantuan launch.

According to Hits Daily Double, the album is officially on course to premiere atop of the Billboard 200 with over 2 million units – first week. Yes, 2 million.
In doing so, it’s on track to surpass the huge opening week sales delivered by ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Midnights’ to become the biggest debut of Swift’s career.
What’s more,‘The Tortured Poets Department’ will register as Swift’s seventh album to open north of 1 million units and the third to launch with over 1.5 million. Uniquely (and in a rather epic feat), latter sums were all accrued within the last two years.
