The NBA Is Looking Into Ja Morant’s Finger-Gun Gesture Toward the Warriors

It appears that Ja Morant‘s interest in firearms has not diminished. At the conclusion of Tuesday night’s defeat, Morant, who has a troubled history of toying with weapons on camera, made a gun motion toward the Warriors bench, obviously upsetting Draymond Green and Stephen Curry.

According to ESPN, the NBA has noticed and is looking into the gesture and one made by Buddy Hield of the Warriors. Morant reposted a close-up of Hield hurling a gun sign at him from the sidelines on X.

Ja Morant and his history of gun-related suspensions

Given that Morant has been suspended twice for gun-related offenses, his past will undoubtedly be considered in this case. In March 2023, Morant received his first eight-game suspension for pointing a gun at the Shotgun Willie’s strip club outside of Denver.

Two months later, he was suspended for the first 25 games of the 2023–24 season for flashing a gun in a social media video. The 25-year-old Morant has only appeared in 46 games in 2024–25, and many have theorized that the team’s all-time winning head coach, Taylor Jenkins, was fired in order to keep Morant content in Memphis.

Clinging to the No. 6 seed, the Grizzlies are still in the middle of a Western Conference playoff race.
