The ‘Best New Shows’ List on Spotify Include Angel Reese’s Podcast

Angel Reese had an amazing debut season with the Chicago Sky. The 22-year-old forward made a name for herself in the WNBA very fast, finishing as the first runner-up for Rookie of the Year in 2024 and leading the league in rebounds. Her dominance on the court solidified her status as one of the league’s most promising new players.

However, Reese’s impact extends beyond hardwood floors. She made her foray into podcasting during her first season with the release of Unapologetically Angel. Due to the show’s rapid popularity, Reese was recognized with a new award: Spotify’s Best New Show of 2024.

Her remarks struck a chord with supporters and demonstrated her renowned self-assurance on and off the court. Unapologetically Angel’s acknowledgment is no small accomplishment. With well-known guests including WNBA pioneer Sheryl Swoopes and NBA greats Shaquille O’Neal and Dwyane Wade, the podcast has aired 13 episodes since its debut. Appealing to a wide spectrum of listeners, the discussions have covered anything from basketball insights to more general topics about life, culture, and tenacity.

Reese’s ability to attract high-profile visitors demonstrates her expanding impact outside of sports. In the third episode of the podcast, Shaquille O’Neal complimented Reese as a “game-changer” and her will to succeed in a variety of fields.
