TD Celebration With Hurts, According to A.J. Brown, Was to “Tell Everybody to Shut Up”

Following reports of off-field friction between the two this week, wide receiver A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles claimed that his touchdown celebration with quarterback Jalen Hurts on Sunday was prearranged.

According to James Palmer of Underdog Fantasy, Brown stated following the Eagles’ decisive victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday:  “That was our moment to tell everybody to shut up,”  “Last week wasn’t our standard. … Everyone in the locker room was saying the same thing, but I was the one that got crucified for it.”

The Eagles’ first touchdown came late in the first quarter when Hurts found Brown in the end zone. Hurts and Brown danced in celebration before they left the field when Brown raced back to him.

Following an ugly victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Brown stated that the Eagles‘ passing game had fallen short of expectations. Up until then, Hurts had only averaged 200.2 passing yards per game.

After not being targeted in the second quarter, Brown slammed his helmet on the sidelines of the Panthers game, displaying his obvious annoyance.

The defensive end Hurts and Brown were formerly pals, according to Brandon Graham’s statement on “The Brandon Graham Show” this week, “but things have changed.”

Hurts and Brown clarified their differences on Wednesday, stating that they “were good.” Graham said he was going to apologize for assuming the wrong thing about the two. On Sunday, Brown stated: “I said (passing) for a reason, I didn’t have any real intention behind it,”  “It wasn’t for me to get the ball, it was for all of us to get on the same page.”

Brown had eight receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown at the end of the game. Hurts had two touchdowns and 290 yards on 25 of 32 passes. Hurts had not had so many yards in a game since September 22.
