A day of fun, food, and music turned into mayhem in Chicago over the weekend after rowdy attendees of the 2024 Vegandale Festival turned their beef into a full-on brawl.

Although boasting performances from Rap hitmakers like 2 Chainz, NLE Choppa, Jadakiss, Fabolous, and more, it was the set of 2x GRAMMY nominee Saweetie that saw the unfortunate series of events pop off and escalate into an unexpected and uncoordinated evacuation of the premises.

As captured in the fan footage above, a large crowd can be seen storming away from the Grant Park-Butler Field’s stage after a fight broke out during Saweetie’s performance of her 3x Platinum hit ‘My Type‘ on Sunday (June 23).

Some attendees even reported hearing gunshots at the scene.

The ‘Tap In‘ hitmaker attempted to tap in to diffuse the situation, but her efforts were futile – leading to her set being interrupted.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) later that night, the rapper subtly addressed the situation.

Her show of concern didn’t go over well for one festivalgoer who posted a fiery clapback.

“It was babies out there getting trampled on for nothing then you gone come back talking about ‘I’ma tell y’all what my type is,'” the angry poster said.

Once the criticism landed on Saweetie’s desk, she responded with her own brand of fire.

“The crowd did look crazy which is why I hope everyone got home safe,” the ‘My Type’ hitmaker typed. “I could’ve went home after the fight broke out but I stayed, waited, and after 2 Chainz performed I went back on stage to finish my set because I care. You clearly don’t like me so why you stay for the rest of my set when the festival was clearly over?”
