Ryan Garcia Explains Why He Damaged Hotel Rooms

Ryan Garcia‘s past 12 months have been insane. Garcia had gotten another big fight, this time against Devin Haney, a year after losing to Gervonta Davis. Garcia appeared to go completely crazy before the Haney fight. Fans were deeply alarmed by his unpredictable social media conduct and questioned whether he was mentally well.

Garcia then dominated Haney, but a failed drug test later revoked his victory. Garcia was in a worse state than before the bout after receiving a one-year suspension. Garcia was taken into custody for damaging a hotel room just a few months later. Garcia appeared to be at his lowest point.

In a recent interview with Akin Reyes and Barak Bess, Garcia affirmed this. He clarified that in addition to his heavy drinking, he consumed mushrooms the day he destroyed the hotel room, which caused him to lose control.

“I decided to take a bunch of ‘shrooms, and it was something I was doing already, but this time I took too many and I kinda just lost it. Yeah, I ended up breaking everything in the room. I really don’t remember, bro. I was drunk and f**ked up. I was doing stuff that was hurting my career.”

Garcia also disclosed that, up until the day of the Haney fight, he was consuming alcohol daily. The arrest marked a turning point in his decline in control. At last, he came to the realization that he was f**king up his life.

Garcia has demonstrated that he is still outrageous when given the chance, but he needs to stop his harmful habits if he wants to improve both personally and professionally as a boxer. He will take on Rolly Romero on an epic card in New York City on May 2nd, marking the beginning of his quest for retribution.
