Kevin Durant Responds to Dan Bickley’s Criticism

Although Suns player Kevin Durant is accustomed to receiving criticism, he wasn’t going to ignore the most recent remarks made by local sports radio presenter and columnist Dan Bickley.

Longtime Phoenix sports commentator Bickley criticized Durant’s performance and leadership during the Suns’ disappointing 2024–25 campaign, saying bluntly:

“Kevin Durant is a great basketball player with a very thick resume and very thin skin.”

Bickley continued, bringing up the “many unhappy teams KD has left in his wake” and raising doubts about whether the 14-time All-Star has actually improved the squad.

Durant, who is renowned for interacting with detractors on social media, swiftly responded by retweeting comments from supporters who stood by him, clearly stating his position without directly addressing Bickley.

Has Kevin Durant been harshly judged?

This has sparked controversy among Suns supporters, with some contending that Durant has been one of the team’s few reliable players while others concur that he has fallen short of the team’s extremely high expectations in Phoenix.

Durant has averaged 26.4 points per game this season, but he hasn’t been able to pull the Suns out of their slump by himself. The team’s lack of depth, chemistry problems, and injuries have all contributed to their dismal record.

Bickley’s remarks exacerbated the already mounting annoyance with the Suns, who came into the season hoping to win a title but are now struggling to qualify for the Play-In Tournament.

Even while Durant’s social media posts frequently garner attention, he still keeps his eyes on the court, and as the season comes to an end, the team will need more than online arguments to keep their dreams of making the playoffs alive.
