Megan Thee Stallion may have had a great year thanks to her first solo #1 hit (‘Hiss‘), a hotly selling tour, award show runs, brand deals, and more, but the standout of her 2024 had to be the viral reaction to her Yuki Chiba-assisted single ‘Mamushi.’
A commercial response that continues well beyond the song’s chart peak.
Taking to press on Thursday (December 12), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced a slew of sales updates to Megan’s discography.
See the full list below.
Gold (for sales of 500,000 in the United States)
- ‘Cognac Queen’ (Single)
- ‘Mamushi’ (Single)
- ‘Tina Snow’ (Album)
- ‘What’s New’ (Single)
- ‘Anxiety’ (Single)
Platinum (for sales of 1 million in the U.S.)
- ‘Plan B’ (Single)
5x Platinum
- ‘Savage’ (Single)
With the four additional Gold-certified songs listed above, Stallion now has a career total of 22 tunes certified as high – a feat that races her into exclusive company at the RIAA.
Over the organization’s 72-year history, only two other female rappers could boast earning more Gold plaques for singles: Nicki Minaj (26) and Doja Cat (25).
Thanks to the updates above, Stallion’s cumulative single sales sit at 30.5 million in the U.S. – making her one of the best-selling female rappers of all time.
Note: It’s worth calling out that the RIAA only credits certifications to lead acts, so any certified song where Megan, Cat, or Minaj are listed as features are not officially added to their career counts.
