Season 9 of the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ may be nearing its climax, but the drama is playing on for Karen Huger.
As reported, the Grand Dame was recently found guilty of driving under the influence after crashing her car in March 2024.
Responding officers described Huger as disheveled and perceiveably intoxicated. A sentiment that was confirmed in shocking camera footage shared following her December 2024 conviction.
Now, after missing the RHOP reunion taping and entering a rehabilitation facility, the 61-year-old has made more major changes.

In Touch confirms that Huger has fired her legal team and hired new counsel.
The star’s new team is spearheaded by David A. Martella and Barry Helfand.
In making the move, Huger’s new team motioned for her January 29 sentencing to be delayed for a myriad of reasons – including their need to become acclimated with the case particulars.
The motion read:
“Ms. Huger is seeking to have the benefit of counsel’s 30 years of experience handling cases of this kind, in the Maryland Courts, and in fashioning recommendations that State and the Court may find acceptable to address the community’s interests in accountability, rehabilitation, supervision, and deterrence.”
Continuing, it read:
“The rules of the program severely limit the counsel’s ability to communicate with Ms. Huger and prepare for sentencing. [Karen] will be returning from that program on January 28, 2025, the day before the scheduled sentencing,”
Concluding, the motion stressed their need to become intimately familiar with:
“[the] nature of the case, the procedural history, the evidence that was presented at trial, and the client’s personal and professional history. Additional time would allow counsel to provide the Court with a meaningful and useful memorandum.”
The request was granted and now Huger’s sentencing has been moved to February 26.
