Michael Darby, the estranged husband of “RHOP” star Ashley Darby, has filed a $2 million lawsuit against Candiace Dillard-Bassett for defamation after she made an allegation about his sex life during a November episode of “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” Also, Peter Thomas, ex-husband of former “RHOA” star Cynthia Bailey, is threatening a lawsuit after Mia Thornton added his name in cheating drama with Wendy Osefo. All the crazy details inside… Michael Darby, the estranged husband of Ashley Darby and a cast member of the reality show "The Real Housewives of Potomac," has filed a $2 million defamation lawsuit against fellow cast member Candiace Dillard-Bassett. The lawsuit comes after Candiace accused Michael of sexual acts during a November 2022 episode of the show. The suit is in response to comments Candiace made during a November 2022 episode of the show, where she told Ashley Darby (Michael’s estranged wife) that Michael "likes to leave you and go to a man named [censored's] house and suck his d---." Watch the clip below: Michael’s lawyer claims that Candiace’s reckless statements falsely accuse him of committing a crime, which is actionable under the laws of Virginia, where the couple lives. The lawsuit alleges that Candiace's statements have caused Michael public scorn, humiliation, ridicule, and contempt, and that she made the comments out of hatred and disdain for him. The lawsuit seeks $1 million in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive damages, as well as interest, attorney's fees, and associated costs. Michael's attorney also states that he contacted Candiace in January 2023, demanding that she immediately cease and desist from making any further defamatory statements about Michael, but she has not retracted or accounted for her statements to date. The tension between the two cast members has been brewing for a while, as they have previously clashed on the show, with Michael and Candiace's husband Chris Bassett getting into a physical altercation at a holiday party in 2020. Oh? Peter took to Instagram to react to the insinuations, stating that he only filmed with Wendy for five minutes and did not go out to dinner or share a late-night snack with her. He also claimed that Mia was "disrespectful" and "thirsty" when she accused him of being with Wendy and that the allegation was made to "accumulate that check from Bravo." Peter hinted that Mia's reckless use of his name was hurting his business and threatened to involve his lawyer if necessary.
