Paige Spiranac is clapping back at a fan who brought up an old complaint about her being sexualized. This golf influencer is not one to shy away from speaking her mind.
Paige has always been pretty open about the challenges she’s faced as a golf influencer in a male-dominated sport. And yes, she’s called out the media and society for objectifying her in the past. But who can blame her? It’s not easy when people only focus on your looks and not your skills.
Well, this fan decided to bring up the past and remind Paige about her previous rants on being sexualized. But let me tell you, Paige did not sit back and take it. She came back at that fan and denied ever complaining about being sexualized.
One fan then replied: ‘I still remember when she said “don’t sexualize me” and every time I see her post s*** like this I just lol.’
However, she denied complaining about being sexualized in the sport by responding: ‘Hi I never said that’.
Spiranac does not appear to have ever called for her followers not to sexualize her, with the user in question likely mistaking comments she made back in 2023.
During an appearance on Straight Fire with Jason McIntyre, golf’s glamor girl instead called out her fellow influencers in the sport for hypocrisy after claiming she was ‘oversexualizing’ herself.
‘When I first got into the industry and when I was trying to play professionally a lot of the LPGA players did not like me and were very outspoken towards that, and as well as a lot of influencers who came up behind me, they were saying that they didn’t want to take the path that I was taking, they weren’t going to “oversexualize” themselves, and they turned around and do the exact same thing,’ she fumed.
‘Sometimes there’s just not a level of respect for everything that I’ve been through, and if I didn’t do this then they wouldn’t even be doing this now.
In a world where women are constantly judged and disrespected, it’s refreshing to see someone like Paige speaking up and fighting against the double standards. So, if you’re ever thinking about bringing up her past complaints, remember that she’s not afraid to defend herself.
