NSYNC are back! Well, kind of.
Two decades on from their unprecedented stronghold on the Pop landscape, members Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick reunited on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards 2023.
The platform is particularly notable as the quintet last appeared together during Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award performance 10 years ago at the VMAs 2013.
Their latest showing saw the group present Taylor Swift with the Best Pop award.
An immediate trending topic, attention quickly turned to what the gents may have in store for their ever-loyal fans.
Well, according to a new report, it won’t be many of the nostalgic touchstones that folk may expect.
Full story below…
According to TMZ, the NSYNC reunion is somewhat limited in scale.
Because, per a source close to developments, there’s no new album, tour, or residency planned.
Rather, the ensemble – who dined with their team and close friends after the VMAs – has primarily re-teamed for a new song on the ‘Trolls Band Together’ movie soundtrack.
Aptly, the film sees Timberlake’s character regrouping with his four brothers – with whom he was in a boyband back in the day.
The lack of new music in a meatier capacity as well as the absence of tour plans may come as a surprise to some and a disappointment to others. However, JT loyalists likely aren’t that shocked in light Timbaland’s recent revelation that the performer’s new solo album – which he has been contributing to – is presently due in early 2024.
