Nick Cannon Says He’d Rather See Bruno Mars’ Concert Over Beyonce’s Because She Has Less Hits

From claiming he was a better rapper than Drake and Lil Wayne to suggesting his dating numbers were similar to Taylor Swift‘s (and that the ‘Midnights‘ diva should be his next baby mama), multi-hyphenate star Nick Cannon is no stranger to sharing a polarizing opinion on some of music’s biggest names.

His latest tread in that vein came courtesy of a recent episode of his podcast, ‘The Daily Cannon,’ where the 42-year-old fired off about his admiration of Bruno Mars. Amid his praise of the ‘Grenade‘ hitmaker’s explosive live performances, Cannon launched into a debate with his co-hosts about who has more hits: Bruno or Beyonce.

Needless to say, the conversation got heated and eventually trickled over to Twitter when Nick asserted Bey’s list of hits paled in comparison.

As Bruno is baking his next solo album and Beyonce is rocking global stadiums on her hotly-selling ‘Renaissance Tour,’ Cannon is causing a commotion on his podcast by pitting the two superstars against each other.

Claiming he would rather see Mars in a live setting because he “has more hits” than Bey, Nick fielded many-a-side-eye due to his comments.

“See I think, no offense, but I would rather go to a Bruno Mars show than a Beyoncé or Taylor Swift,” Cannon said (as seen in the video above) before sharing, “I’m a Beyoncé fan. I still believe Bruno Mars actually has more hit records.”

While it’s not completely fair to gauge a “hit” by its chart success and not consider its impact elsewhere, factually speaking Beyonce – with her solo tally alone – does have more hits than Bruno.

By herself, Beyonce’s seven studio albums have seen her collect 81 placements on the Billboard Hot 100 including eight #1 hits and 21 top 10s. Presently, Bruno boasts the same number of #1 hits on the tally but he’s placed 32 songs overall (18 of them top 10s) from three LPs and work with Silk Sonic.

At writing, Bey nor Bruno have responded to Cannon’s commentary but their fans have certainly done the talking. Look below for highlights.
