To say the reunion of Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Nelly Furtado sent music lovers into a frenzy would be an understatement.
After ample teasing about the once-mystery tune in July, Timbo followed in August with official news he had reunited with Timberlake and Furtado for the new song ‘Keep Going Up’ – their first offering as a trio since hitting #1 on the Hot 100 with the smash hit ‘Give It To Me’ in 2007.
Believed to be the first single from Tim’s forthcoming solo project, ‘Keep Going Up’ seems poised to live up to its namesake if its opening on this week’s main hitlist is any suggestion.
Details inside.
Ahead of the delivery of a rumored music video, ‘Up’ premired at #84 on the Hot 100 from buzz alone – a rumble amplified by the song’s inclusion in Monday Night Football offerings.
Off to a promising start, the cut marks Timbaland’s highest-ranking appearance on the hitlist (as a credited performer) since jetting to #37 with the Katy Perry-assisted ‘If We Ever Meet Again‘ in 2010. For Furtado, the last time she was spotted on the tally was in 2012 as assistant on K’Naan‘s #92-peaking entry, ‘Is Anybody Out There?’
Timberlake, however, was printed on the coveted count as recently as 2022 as the supporting act for Romeo Santos‘ #100-peaking ‘Sin Fin.’
