In 2016, Taylor Swift made GRAMMY history when she scored her second Album of the Year win – that time for her blockbuster 2014 LP, ‘1989.’
In 2021, Swift became the sole owner of the most Album of the Year wins among female acts as she collected the coveted golden gramophone for her 2020 LP ‘Folklore.’
Now, with her fourth capture of the category, she can boast a win of even higher historic measure.
Defeating Jon Batiste, boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Janelle Monae, and Olivia Rodrigo for the honor, Swift was presented the award by Pop icon/previous Album of the Year winner Celine Dion.
With the win Taylor has broken a three-way tie with Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra to own the title of being the only act to claim the night’s most prestigious honor four times in her career.
The news isn’t the only her beloved fans (affectionately called #Swifties) is celebrating as the 34-year-old used an earlier win from the night to announce a new album is coming in Spring.
