Queen of Pop Madonna sent her fans into a royal frenzy Wednesday (May 24) when she unexpectedly took to Instagram to announce she has a collaboration in the works with GRAMMY-winning Pop star Sam Smith.
Fans of both acts may have passively put a duet on their wishlist when Madge presented Smith and Kim Petras the trophy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2023 GRAMMYs, but it appears the wish has been granted.
On social media Wednesday, the 64-year-old posted a black-and-white, text-only clip that features her voice alongside Sam’s declaring they have joined forces (as seen above). While some speculated there’s a new song coming, others believe it’s a surprise live performance as Smith is currently rocking arenas on the ‘Gloria Tour‘ and Madonna is prepping the launch of her ‘Celebration Tour.’
Although the associated caption gave little information about what the forthcoming venture is or when it’s dropping, the teaser alone was enough to send their fans and friends alike into a frenzy.
