Luka Doncic Didn’t Ask to Leave Dallas Before His Trade to the Lakers

Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis are 2 names going viral at this very moment. One of the most unexpected and important deals in NBA history was made by the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. Anthony Davis is no longer with the Lakers, which is a whole 180-degree reversal of events. Superstar guard Luka Dončić, one of the best players in the league, was acquired in exchange for him.

This blockbuster transaction, which also included the Utah Jazz, has made Dončić a Laker.

A lot of people wanted to know how long this transaction has been planned and whether a trade request was discussed. Dončić, however, did not ask for a trade, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Luka Doncic trade a shocker for fans and experts alike

As it is, Dončić is arguably one of the league’s top five players and occasionally in the top three. However, general manager Nico Harrison and the Mavericks see it as a win-now strategy. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points claims that the Mavericks spoke with Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka on this trade on Saturday evening.

Without anyone in the league knowing, the agreement was swiftly finalized. The Lakers lost one of their best and most dominant big men in franchise history, as well as their defensive foundation.

During the 2019–20 season, Davis assisted the Lakers in winning their 17th championship.

As the trade deadline draws near, this is undoubtedly the largest trade that will occur.
