Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show Boycotted By Skip Bayless

Kendrick Lamar won the chance to perform in the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show after he dominated the summer of 2024 with his hit song, “Not Like Us.” Many thought Lamar wasn’t a legitimate musician, even though he seemed like the logical pick after his famous feud with Drake, the Canadian hip-hop icon.

The fact that it was set in New Orleans, Louisiana, led many to assume that Lil Wayne, a Louisiana native and fellow rap and hip-hop icon, was the more worthy entity. Among them is FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless.

“I’m boycotting this year’s halftime show,” Bayless declared, jokingly calling the five-time Grammy winner his “brother.”

Fans Blast Skip Bayless for his Kendrick Lamar take

Fans quickly pointed out how absurd Bayless’ statement was, as he is known for generating controversy. Others pointed out that many chances to have Lil Wayne perform at the Super Bowl halftime show have been lost. Bayless’ indignation doesn’t appear to hold up well to the investigation, as he notes that New Orleans is no stranger to the Super Bowl.

Stephen A. Smith, on the other hand, praised Lamar and his recent achievement. There was a lot of conjecture before the event on whether or not Lamar would change the words of his debut song.

The 22-time Grammy winner gave an honest performance of the diss track after being loyal to himself and his art.
