Kayla Nicole Says She Received Backlashes After Breakup With Travis Kelce As She Joins ‘Special Forces’ Reality Show

Kayla Nicole has finally addressed the backlash she faced after her breakup with NFL star Travis Kelce, especially with his newfound romance with Taylor Swift. In an interview, the influencer shared her thoughts ahead of her appearance on the third season of ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ as one of the celebrity recruits.

Nicole candidly opened up about the aftermath of their split in 2022. However, she made it clear that she is not afraid of being vulnerable in front of the public, as she takes on the challenges based on the Special Forces selection process alongside other famous faces.

In fact, she revealed that the verbal and online onslaught she faced helped her mentally prepare for the grueling tests she would encounter.

‘Going through a public breakup, it’s been overwhelming,’ she told Page Six, noting the criticism and negative comments she’s received from Kelce and Swift’s fanbases.

‘I would say I’m the opposite of being afraid of what people are going to see. I’m actually excited for people to see us stripped down, raw, vulnerable,’ she explained.

‘I think people in general, the general public, need to be reminded that we’re all humans, right? We all have very real emotions. And I’m excited about that element [of] allowing us to be humans.’

‘God, I think that put things in full perspective, that social media is literally just that. Social media, words on the internet, and experiences like this put life into perspective,’ Nicole added.

‘Like, there’s people in the real world that are doing this on a daily basis to save lives. So the little tweets and the headlines could mean nothing to me when you’re put in an environment like this.’

Nicole and Kelce had an on-and-off relationship for five years before officially breaking up in May 2022. Subsequently, Kelce began dating Taylor Swift in July 2023, making them one of the most high-profile couples of recent times.

Fans can catch the Season 3 premiere of ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test’ on January 8 on Fox. The show will feature other celebrities such as Denise Richards, Carey Hart, Cam Newton, Christy Carlson Romano, and Brody Jenner, among others.
