Josh Giddey’s Half-Court Buzzer-Beater Stuns the Lakers

Josh Giddey‘s outstanding half-court buzzer-beater helped the Chicago Bulls defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 119-117, capping an incredible comeback. In the final 10 seconds of Thursday’s game at the United Center, the Bulls made three three-pointers after falling behind by five points with less than 13 seconds left.

As time ran out, Giddey fired from inside his own half and left with an impressive amount of composure after his shot went into the basket.

Josh Giddey and LeBron James react to the game

Giddey recorded his fifth triple-double of the season with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists; the only other Bulls player to accomplish so in a single season is Michael Jordan, who recorded 15 in 1988–89.

Giddey stated: “Special moment to do it with these guys, this team.”

The Lakers should have played the entire game, according to LeBron James, who admitted to giving up possession when his team was ahead 115-113 with 9.8 seconds remaining. James stated: “We put ourselves in position to win, gave up a lot of threes in the fourth quarter, still put ourselves in position to win,”.

“Horrible turnover by myself, miscommunication the play before that. AR (Austin Reaves) tried to save us. Tip your hats.”

After the game, Lakers coach JJ Redick described the atmosphere in the locker room as one of “devastation” and said, “It’s a hell of a way to lose a basketball game.”
