The Knicks guard, though, wasn’t too happy with his team’s performance against the Wizards. According to the 2024 All-Star, his squad was slower than the home team for most of the match.
He stated: “We were a step slow all night. You’ve got to give them credit and fourth quarter we picked up a little bit and found a way to put the game in our favor.”

They won the game 136-132 after outscoring them once more in overtime, 17 to 13. Despite the fact that this was the second night of the Knicks playing back-to-back games, Brunson played a strong game and helped his team win the road game with 44 minutes.
He finished with 55 points, three rebounds, and nine assists while shooting 18/31 from the field. During his time with the Knicks, Brunson had three performances with 50 points or more. With this, he now shares the second-most 50-point games in Knicks history with Richie Guerin. Bernard King, who had five games with 50 points or more with the Knicks, is the only player who is ahead of Brunson.
