Hot 100: Shaboozey Ties Longstanding Usher Record Thanks to History-Making 12th Week at #1 with ‘A Bar Song’

Shaboozey may have already raised the bar for Country music on the Hot 100 as his breakout hit ‘A Bar Song‘ has enjoyed a historic tenure on the all-genre chart (the longest reign of 2024 yet), but now the Nevin-produced cut is line-dancing to even higher heights on the tally thanks to its extended stay.

Details inside.

‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ tipped its hat to yet another week atop the Hot 100. Here are the numbers that powered the placement.

  • Streaming = 27.8 million U.S.-based streams
  • Sales = 8,000 digital downloads
  • Radio airplay =  78.2 million audience impressions

Beyond laying claim to the second-longest rule for a Country song in the hitlist’s 66-year history (runner-up to the 16-week stay of Morgan Wallen‘s 2023 smash ‘Last Night’), Shaboozey quietly ties Usher for the longest-running #1 hit for a Black male vocalist as the ‘Confessions‘ crooner dominated the Hot 100 alongside Lil Jon and Ludacris for 12 weeks with ‘Yeah!’ in 2004.

Unlike Ush, Shaboozey is the first Black male vocalist to own the reign by his lonesome.

‘Bar’ is now one of an elite 28 #1 hits in the Hot 100’s 66-year history to own 12 or more weeks on top.  For context, that’s a shocking 2.4% of all the songs ever to occupy the pole position.
